speakers delivered their reports in the confrerence, including reps. from DOT, RMA, and other important players in this field. The 6th STR conference was held from Oct. 28 throughout 29, 2015 in Albany, NY, US, organized by Rubber Manufacturer Association (RMA) of USA. This event attracted more than 100 attendees including government orgnizations, institutions, private companies and universities etc. mainly from US, Germany, Canada and China. The main topic of it is how to generate profits out of scrap/waste (Scrap to Profit).

From 2010, Rhinestone Technology started pioneering in used tire recycling by working with some machinery manufacturers in China. Production lines have been set up in UAE and India. This system is now updated to include crumb making, devulcanization in a clean way and application of the TDR (tire derived rubber).

Used tires in the United States, not as strategic resources as in China, are a big headache of environment problem. TDF (tire derived fuel) is the major treatment of scrap tires (that is to say, they cut the tire and burn the chips as fuel for the industries of cement and boliers), other applications include rubberized asphalt, molded products and landfiller etc.

Back in China, used tires are a useful resource, and people usually pulverize the scrap tires into rubber crumb or powder, and mostly to make reclaimed rubber. To convince Americans to sue reclaimed rubber shall be the next step job of Rhinestone Technology, which is working with its counterparties in the US.

Mr. Jeff Sussman from Goodyear made a special presentation on the reclaimed rubber industry in China. He showed an advertisement video presented by a company in Tangshan, Hebei Province. He also discovered some information on this industry. He told Rehinestone Technology that product can make markets to encourage Rhinestone to explore the US market. The key issue is that the process may not generate the second pollution.
